15 year old NYC-based singer/songwriter Simone has talent that rivals many of her older, more established peers. With writing reminiscent of early Taylor Swift combined with production similar to Sheryl Crow, Clairo, and Chloe Lilac, Simone is setting up to be a Gen Z star.
Simone’s writing is particularly impressive. Just take a listen to Sad Songs for Depressed Girls to get a sense of her Swift-like story telling that is both personal yet applicable to her entire generation (highlighting her “Modern Media” track here). Simone’s versatility is also impressive when you compare her more alt-pop inspired To Be Honest EP to her more personal and acoustic Sad Songs for Depressed Girls. At only 15, her work comes off as mature but still possessing qualities that will allow her the ability to explore a wide range of sounds in her future. When, not if, Simone establishes and grows her core fanbase, she will be a star.
